Crochet Football Beanie

Football season is in full swing and I've been getting a lot of orders for my NFL football beanie.  These beanies are so fun to make and they make great baby shower gifts or newborn photo props.

Materials Required:
• 3 colors of worsted weight yarn. Pick your football team primary and secondary colors and white. I recommend using I Love This Yarn!
• 5mm (H-8) crochet hook
• Yarn needle


Stitch Gauge:
3 dc sts = 1”/2 dc rows = 1”


Notes:
The ch 2 at the beginning of each round counts as a dc stitch.




Newborn (13”)

With primary color yarn:
Round 1: ch 2, 9 dc in 3rd ch from hook. Join with sl st to top of beg ch 2. (10 dc)
Round 2: ch 2, 1 dc in same st, 2 dc in each st around.  Join with sl st to top of beg ch 2. (20 dc)

With secondary color yarn:
Round 3: ch 2, 1 dc in same st, 1 dc in next st, * 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st* 9 times.  Join with sl st to top of beg ch 2. (30 dc)

With white yarn:
Round 4: ch 2, 1 dc in each st around.  Join with sl st to top of beg ch 2. (30 dc)

With primary color yarn:
Round 5 – 7:  repeat Round 4. (30 dc)

With white yarn:
Round 8: repeat Round 4. (30 dc)

With secondary color yarn:
Round 9: repeat Round 4. (30 dc)

With primary color yarn:
Round 10: ch 2, 1 hdc in each st around.  Join with sl st to top of beg ch 2. (30 hdc)
FO and weave in all ends.

Really Simple Scarf

Happy Friday!  Now that I have my Etsy store up and running, I've decided I need to start blogging more.  My goal is to blog every Friday about new projects I am working on and give out free patterns.

Fall has hit the air this week and I wanted to whip up a quick scarf in a fun autumn color.  This pattern is really simple and great for beginning crocheters.  Check it out below:



Really Simple Scarf

Materials Required:
Any color worsted weight yarn – one skein
5mm (H-8) crochet hook
Yarn needle

Stitch Gauge:
Gauge is not important for this project

Skill Level:
Easy

Terms:
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
dc: double crochet
*__*: stitches between asterisks are to be repeated

Notes:
 Ch 6 at the end of each row counts as a ch 3 and dc stitch. 



Pattern:
Ch 36














Row 1: Sc in 6th ch from hook, *ch 3, dc in 3rd ch, ch 3, sc in 3rd ch* 5 times, ch 6, turn











Row 2: Sc in first dc, *ch 3, dc in next sc, ch 3, sc in next dc* 5 times, (last sc should be in ch 6 space from previous row), ch 6, turn










Repeat row 2 until desired length (approx. 5 feet).  Fasten off and whip stitch ends together.
